The Recipe For Destruction

(One of our homemade synths we use in live performance)

The Recipe For Destruction is based on a Forrest Mimms circuit.  I killed an old Yamaha PSR-6 for the keys and provided resistance to vary the pitch for each one.  The case is made out of an old recipe box that was lying around, hence the name.  This was a “stream of consciousness” project.  I really didn’t know what I was going to end up with.  Keep in mind that this representation is nothing like playing the real thing.  On the real one only C through F actually do anything and the pitch is jointly controlled by the keys and the two pots. Also with the real one, you never get the same sounds twice. I also ran this virtual Recipe for Destruction though a bit of echo to get some nutty sounds and make it more fun to play with on the computer.  It sounds crazy dry as well.
